Guardians were finally reunited with an old friend from “Destiny," the Exotic Machine Gun – the Thunderlord. In celebration of its return, Bungie also rolled out a commemorative long sleeve t-shirt as a special reward for players who acquired the weapon in “Destiny 2.” That said, someone from Reddit took notice of the shirt’s graphic and began speculating that Bungie could be rolling out other LMGs from the first game.

Reddit user u/neowolf7 recently took to Destiny’s subreddit to share his fan theory as he recently acquired the Thunderlord, adding that he has to get the merch that is associated with it as well.

He stated that while he was checking on the shirt, he noticed the text around the horseman. It was the in-game description of the weapon from “D1” that reads, “They return from fields afar. The eye has passed. The end nears. Do not fade quietly. Let thunder reign again.”

Bungie could be hinting at three more LMGs

He further explained that the text talks about the end and came as an assumption that the weapon could be referencing one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. He went on, claiming that three more machine guns could be making a comeback in “Destiny 2.” He added that Bungie could be rolling out merch for each just like what they did for the Thunderlord.

The Redditor’s post also included the other three LMGs from the first game alongside their descriptions:

  • Abbadon (Solar) - “I am one with the flame. The conflagration reborn. I am your funeral pyre.” (Anthem of the Abbadon)
  • Nemesis Star (Kinetic) - “What is the answer when the question is extinction?”
  • Nova-Mortis (Void) - “From the space between I come. Fragments of stars burn in my footsteps. In my hands I hold Death.” - (Song of the Nova-Mortis)

One for each season

Neo further speculated that the above-mentioned Exotic LMGs could be released on each of the three upcoming contents of the online-only shooter:

  • Black Armory – slated to go live during the Season of the Forge (December 4, 2018-March 4, 2019).
  • Joker’s Wild – to be released over the course of the Season of the Drifter in Spring of 2019.
  • Penumbra – to be rolled out in the Summer of 2019 during the Season of the Shadow.

Details about the last two game expansions are still undisclosed at the moment, though Bungie already provided some hints as to what players can expect in the upcoming DLC.

Per Battle.net’s post, Guardians will be granted access to the Black Armory and will be getting a new activity dubbed The Lost Forges. BA will also usher in new Exotics, Quests, Raids, Triumphs, and Collections.
