The latest updates for the revamped "Resident Evil 2" reveal new details on the game's development. Capcom producer Tsuyoshi Kanda tells it all during his interview with Siliconera as he explains some of the scene changes within the story and their work on the new bite animation for the zombies.

There is also a new trailer for the sequel featuring the pre-order DLC outfits of Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy. The revamped sequel first debuted in this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo and players revisited the zombie-infested town of Raccoon City during the eve of the T-Virus outbreak.

Claire and Leon must solve the mystery behind it and escape this hellish nightmare.

New changes for the revamped sequel

Tsuyoshi Kanda told Siliconera that the plans for "Resident Evil 2" started out in middle of "Resident Evil 7's" development. He explained that the revamped sequel was intended to surpass the level of fear that players experienced in the seventh installment, and they want to give them an unforgettable "horror entertainment" experience.

The Capcom producer added that the plot of "RE2" is still the same, but they made some scene changes to make it more impactful since fans who already played the original PS1 version know the sequences of these events. Video game fans were able to see these changes in gameplay demos, such as Leon meeting Marvin Branagh RPD HQ, Claire's encounter with a mutated William Birkin, and Ada Wong's first appearance.

There are also new animations for how players get bitten by zombies in the game as Kanda and the developers put a lot of effort and details into their encounters. Zombies are much harder to kill in the game as it takes multiple headshots just to kill one.

Capcom previously stated that they plan to make "RE2" the goriest title in the survival-horror franchise and it all happened thanks to the RE Engine software.

Kanda along with his co-producer, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi wanted the sequel to return to its horror roots and to separate itself from their action-based counterparts.

DLC outfits teaser

According to Gematsu, Capcom launched a teaser for "Resident Evil 2's" pre-order DLC outfits. These outfits include the Noir suits for Leon and Claire, the Military uniform, Eliza Walker, and the Arklay sheriff.

These costumes are part of the sequel's pre-order content for the Deluxe Edition. It also includes the game's retro soundtracks and Albert Wesker's Samurai Edge hand cannon.

"RE2" will launch on January 25, 2019, for the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC.
