The latest updates for "Resident Evil 2" reveal the return of a fan-favorite monster in the revamped sequel. IGN streamed a new gameplay video for "RE2" featuring Claire Redfield fighting-off several Licker monsters. These monsters are vicious and deadly adversaries and they have garnered huge amounts of popularity from the fans since their debut in the original game.

Capcom also announced DLC items for the game's Deluxe Edition featuring additional costumes for Claire and Leon S. Kennedy. The game will have players return to Raccoon City during the T-Virus outbreak as Leon and Claire must survive the night against zombies and other bioweapons created by the Umbrella Corporation.

Claire vs Lickers

According to WCCFTech, the IGN gameplay featured Claire Redfield exploring a new area in the revamped "RE2" as she fights her way inside with several zombies and Lickers in her path. The Lickers were first encountered in the original game during in the infamous hallway cutscene and they are given a major makeover thanks to the RE Engine from "Resident Evil 7."

The Lickers are more agile, aggressive, and resilient in the game and they can easily dodge gunfire and attack their prey from the ceiling. It took a grenade launcher with fire rounds and several point-blank shots to take them down.

Aside from zombies and Lickers, Capcom will also bring back other infamous monsters in "RE2" such as the mutated Wiliam Birkin, the giant mutant alligator, and Mr.

X. Game director Kazunori Kadoi also revealed that they will not add a new monster in the game as they want to stick with the original as far as possible.

DLC items in Deluxe Edition

According to Game Rant, Capcom announced the bonus items that are available in the Deluxe Edition include three costumes for Claire and two costumes for Leon.
