Rockstar Games revealed a new gameplay trailer for "Red Dead Redemption 2" and it highlighted several unique gameplay features, quests, and activities that players can engage in, in the vast open-world of the Frontier.

The video game publisher also revealed new details about the prequel's updates for the "Dead Eye" system. "RDR2" will focus on the story of Arthur Morgan, a veteran member of the infamous Van der Linde gang as they travel, rob, and kill their way from town to town. Arthur and his crew will encounter strange folks, persistent lawmen, dangerous bounty hunters, and rival gangs in order to ensure their survival.

The new and improved Dead Eye system

According to GameSpot, Rockstar Games explained that "Red Dead Redemption 2" will have an updated Dead Eye system that progresses each time the player conquers an obstacle. Players can now have access to different functions of the system giving Arthur new abilities such as slowing down time, aiming his shots carefully, or paint targets to automatically squeeze the trigger.

The new Dead Eye also has X-ray vision that will allow players to pinpoint weak spots for them to shoot. This will come in handy against hordes of enemies and lets them shoot items such as explosive barrels.

Introducing heists, side-quests, and other rival factions

The new trailer showcased how players perform heists in "Red Dead Redemption 2" as players will help the Van der Linde gang pull-off a bank robbery, hold up a carriage, or steal gold from a train.

Players can plan out how to perform the heist by creating a complex strategy or just go out there guns blazing.

For side-quests, VG 24/7 reported that Arthur can do these missions by interacting with NPCs in the camp or from the seven towns on the Frontier. Players can also participate in mini-games such as playing cards, gambling, dancing, cattle runs, and even gun duels.

Combat in the game is more intense as players will have to fend themselves from persistent lawmen, greedy bounty hunters, and dangerous rival gangs. Players can also customize Arthur's appearance in the game from clothes, hats, and guns, to cutting off facial hair and using proper hygiene.

They also hunt different animals for food or trade and go fishing in lakes, rivers, and upstream waterfalls.

Rockstar Games previously reported that game's online multiplayer mode, "Red Dead Online" will have its beta test in November and it will cater to over 32 players online.

The game will launch on October 26 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
