The latest updates for "Red Dead Redemption 2" reveal new gameplay details on bank heist missions and player choices in the sequel. The game's story will be set in the year 1899 as the age of outlaws and gunslingers are meeting their end, and the Old West has nearly been tamed. Players will assume the role of Arthur Morgan, an infamous outlaw and a member of the Van der Linde gang, who is struggling to keep his life together while trying to lead the group.

Arthur's gang has failed on a heist and they are being hunted down by the federal agents and bounty hunters.

He must do whatever he can to survive the cold and calculating world of the Wild West. The sequel will also feature returning characters such as Dutch Van der Linde and John Marston, the first game's protagonist.

Explosive heists

According to IGN, Rockstar Games showcased a gameplay preview of "Red Dead Redemption 2" featuring Arthur and his gang members Lenny, Karen, and Bill Williamson trying to rob a bank in Valentine, giving players a taste of the heist missions. Several video game fans have noticed that the planned heist mission is similar to "Grand Theft Auto 5" and "GTA Online" as the gang strategizes and executes different plans to rob the place.

Each character will play a role in the bank heist, as Karen unbuttons her shirt and pretends to be drunk to distract everyone, while the three men enter and grab the money.

After getting inside the bank vault, the player as Arthur must decide whether they open it quietly, or blow it up using dynamite. If Arthur chooses the second option and blows up the vault, players will likely have to fight their way out as the explosion from the vault attracts several federal agents who will not hesitate to shoot them down.

Rockstar Games has confirmed that the player's choice on how to handle the heist will have an impact on the mission. If they choose the quiet approach they could leave with money without any lawmen following them.

The choices they make

Rockstar Games revealed that players will have the option to choose Arthur's actions that will impact the course of the main story and certain side-missions.

One particular mission will have a member of the Van der Linge gang telling Arthur that the food supply is running low. Players will have different options to increase the food supply. Either Arthur goes out and finds ways to get food like buying or hunting, or just lets the food supply dwindle. Players will encounter these types of dilemmas and it is up to them whether to engage in helping or ignore it.
