The latest updates for "Devil May Cry 5" reveal a new gameplay demo for the legendary demon hunter, Dante. IGN streamed the video at the Tokyo Game Show event after Capcom released its newest story trailer highlighting Dante's return along with his friends Trish and Lady, and the new character V.

Capcom also responded to the rumored online multiplayer features for "DMC5" after video game fans discovered the listings on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Steam. The sequel will feature Nero, Dante, and the rest of the crew traveling to Red Grave City to fend off a demonic invasion.

Nero will also settle a score against Urizen for chopping off his Devil Bringer arm.

No online multiplayer feature

According to GameSpot, an unnamed representative from Capcom stated that "Devil May Cry 5" will not feature any co-op or online multiplayer game modes as they solely intend to make the game an action-packed single-player experience. "With Devil May Cry 5, we are focused on delivering a complete single-player action experience," the Capcom representative told GameSpot. "No multiplayer features have been announced."

Both console and PC users were surprised to see "DMC5" having a co-op and online multiplayer faction given that the game franchise never had them for years.

Dante's styles and weapons revealed

According to Gematsu, IGN streamed a 15-minute gameplay demo for Dante at the TGS 2018 before it was taken down online. The video showed how the son of Sparda unleashes hell against a new host of demon enemies. Similar to the previous title, players can use Dante's four fighting styles: Swordmaster, Gunslinger, Trickster, and Royal Guard.

Swordmaster allows Dante to showcase his mastery of sword combat with different weapons for unique combo attacks. This also goes for Gunslinger as he shows-off several gun maneuvers and tricks to create more combos. Trickster allows him to perform air dashes and teleport in front of opponents for a surprise attack. Royal Guard can block incoming enemy attacks and use their momentum for a counter-attack.

Dante still has his Rebellion sword, Ebony and Ivory handguns, and the Coyote-A shotgun to dish out punishment against demons. In addition, he also has two new Devil Arms at his disposal.

First is the Balrog, a combat armor that utilizes fire elemental attacks. There two modes when using it: Blow and Kick Modes. Blow utilizes boxing punches, jabs, and uppercuts, while Kick can perform capoeira-styled acrobats and kicks.

The second weapon is the Cavaliere, a demon motorcycle that can transform into two buzzsaw-like clubs. While it is slow and heavy to use, the Cavaliere can cause serious damage to opponents. Dante can also ride it in mid-battle, showcasing some cool vehicular combat.

"DMC5" will launch on March 8, 2019, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
