The latest updates for the PS4 exclusive "Spider-Man" video game reveal new details about its difficulty settings. Insomniac Games announced that three difficulty settings within the game will test the players' skills in any given situation. These are, Friendly, Amazing, and Spectacular.

The game developers also announced that the game will not feature any enemy scaling. The new "Spider-Man" game will have players assume the role of Peter Parker as he protects New York City from the criminal element while balancing his everyday life. He will also encounter a new threat named Martin Li, as well as old foes and the city's new mayor, Norman Osborn.

New difficulty settings revealed

According to Comic Book.com, "Spider-Man" will contain three difficulty settings. The Friendly difficulty will cater to beginners who want to enjoy the experience without any stress, while Amazing will serve as the default game setting with balanced gameplay and difficulty.

Spectacular will be the game's "Hard Mode" setting and it will test the players' knowledge and skills to handle difficult missions and side-quests. Interesting enough, these three names are also homage to the different publication titles for the web-slinger in the Marvel comics.

The enemy scale will not change

According to Game Rant, Insomniac Games confirmed that "Spider-Man" will not feature any enemy scaling regardless of which difficulty setting they choose to play the game.

Enemy scaling is usually found in RPG titles such as "The Witcher 3," "Bloodborne," "Destiny 2" and "The Division" that will ramp up the enemy health and damage as players progress throughout the game.

However, this will not be the case in the "Spidey" video game as Insomniac Games told fans that the threats will grow over the course of the story.

So far, the game will feature an original story as Peter Parker is a seasoned superhero rather than a cocky kid learning about his powers. Players will explore an open-world New York as they patrol the city via web-swinging and save everyone from danger.

They will also explore the game without the mask and Peter can interact with other characters, solve puzzles, and create new weapons and upgrades for his suit.

Peter's love interest, Mary Jane Watson, will also be a playable character as she incorporates stealth and taking pictures of criminal evidence for the Daily Bugle.

Players will also face Spidey's famous rogues' gallery such as Rhino, Shocker, Electro, Scorpion, Vulture, and the Kingpin. Lastly, Insomniac Games confirmed that there will be 25 alternate Spidey suits in the game and three of them can be unlocked when they pre-order it.
