Rockstar Games streamed the first official gameplay trailer of "Red Dead Redemption 2" and video game fans are excited to see and hear what the game has to offer. The new title will serve as a prequel to the first game and players will assume the role of Arthur Morgan, a senior member of the infamous Van der Linde gang. Its story will take place in the 1800s, where America is now being modernized and the age of outlaws is about to be over.
Arthur must rally his gang and travel throughout America to escape lawmen and bounty hunters after a failed heist.
Players will have to camp, rob, and shoot their way out of trouble in order to survive the harsh lands of the Old West.
Setting up base camps and activities
According to Game Rant, the new "Red Dead Redemption 2" gameplay trailer will feature a vast open-world full of wilderness and western towns for players to explore. Arthur and his gang are on the run from the law and they always look for a place set up camp before their next journey.
In the camps, the player can interact with the other members of the Van der Linde gang, unlocking several missions and side-quests in the main story. Players can engage in several activities such as hunting for food, drinking, gambling, and even bar brawls. Arthur can speak his mind towards the NPCs depending on the players' reply.
They can complement them such as having a nice horse or threatening them to instigate a fight.
Wanted levels are a huge feature in the game as Arthur and his gang can start a gunfight with the local law enforcement. Arthur can also intimidate a witness by pointing a gun at them or beat them up to a bloody mess with his bare fists.
The good thing about "RDR2" is that players can escalate any situation such as ignoring a crime or lending a helping hand towards strangers. This will allow players to recruit them, or become a future enemy of the Van der Linde gang.
Hunting, horse breeding, and trade systems
According to GameSpot, players can provide food for the camp by buying from locals stores or hunt animals in the forest.
Arthur will use his tracking skills to hunt for big game and catch them using his bow or setting up traps. Once they killed an animal, players can bring it back to camp and cook a meal to boost the gang's morale.
They can also sell it to local stores for food, medicine, outfits, and even guns. Players can also breed horses and each horse has a specific work function. They can improve their relationship by feeding and washing them.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" will be available on October 26 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
