"Fortnite Battle Royale" is available on multiple platforms, including the most popular consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as on PC. It is one of a few games which allows players to cross-play with their friends on other platforms, and even though this is a good thing, it puts certain players at a disadvantage. However, one of the worst things about the game is the native support for keyboard and mouse on PlayStation 4, and Epic Games has a solution for this.

Considering that using keyboard and mouse gives a huge advantage to players, the "Fortnite Battle Royale" developer announced a huge upcoming change which will make things fair for everyone.

In short, everyone who uses keyboard and mouse will be matched up against other keyboard-mouse users, despite the platform they play on.

Matchmaking changes

Many console players avoid cross-playing with their PC friends because it puts them at a disadvantage. Most PC players use a mouse for aiming and a keyboard for quick keybinds. These two devices give them a huge advantage over players who use a controller. While console players have aim assist, it isn't always useful and it cannot really be compared to the mouse precision and accuracy.

Unfortunately, "Fortnite Battle Royale" offers a native support for keyboard and mouse on PlayStation 4. This is a huge problem since controller users stand no chance against players who use keyboard and mouse, yet they are put in the same lobby.

Offering a native support for these devices doesn't make much sense, but Epic Games will at least solve it by putting keyboard and mouse users in the same lobby, regardless of their platform.

"We're actually working on some matchmaking tech, on the way, that'll pair you against folks based on your choice of peripherals. More info on this coming next week, but tl;dr if you're on KB+M you'll be against KB+M.," is the message an Epic Games developer recently posted on Reddit.

Simply put, if you use a keyboard and mouse combo on PlayStation 4, or any other system, you will be matched up against other players who use the same device. This means that console players who don't use a controller will be matched up against PC players, and this will make things fair.

More info coming soon

The game developer announced that more details would come soon. At the moment, many PC players who prefer playing on a controller are wondering if they will be matched up against console players who use this device.
