"Fortnite Battle Royale" players will soon get a game-changing feature which will further boost sales of cosmetic items. Epic Games, "Fortnite" developer, announced last month that the video game would receive a gifting feature. Even though the developer hasn't revealed any specific information regarding this, data miners have found some interesting details in the game files.

While this feature would be amazing for both players and the developer, there are many potential problems that could be caused by it. The biggest problem is scamming, and the gifting feature would basically allow players to trick others.

Epic Games will first have to figure out how to deal with scammers before releasing the feature, but it seems that it will be out very soon.

Gifting feature leak

Popular Twitter page @FNBRLeaks has recently shared some interesting information regarding the upcoming gifting feature in "Fortnite Battle Royale." The page discovered some new text strings in the gifting file which can be found in the game data, and it appears that the game developer is close to releasing this feature.

As the tweet above indicates, Epic Games has added five new text strings to the file.

The first string indicates that an item is not found in the store. The second string hints at the presence of a search feature as it seems that players will be able to type the name of the item they want to gift to their friends. Another string simply states that players won't be able to make multiple quick purchases.

The fourth string shows us that some items won't be available for gifting.

It is not clear what items will fall into this category, but it is safe to say that "Fortnite Battle Royale" players won't be able to purchase Battle Pass items and gift them to their friends. The final string looks like another error message as it shows that gifting has failed.

Potential release date

Epic Games will release another update from Tuesday, July 17, to Thursday, July 19.

At the moment, it is unclear whether the game developer will keep releasing updates on Tuesday or postpone the release until another day. Considering that this will be the first patch in season 5, no one knows when it will be out.

However, it won't be surprising if this patch brings the gifting feature to the game. The timing would be perfect since it would allow "Fortnite Battle Royale" players to buy a season 5 Battle Pass for their friends who can't afford it.
