"Fortnite Battle Royale" has received numerous updates recently, and its developer is still working hard on releasing fresh content to the game. Even though the popular video game is free, Epic Games makes a lot of money by selling in-game cosmetic items. It turns out that the game developers have a great plan to sell even more cosmetic items as they are working on enabling a gifting feature for players.

Epic Games made over $300 million from "Fortnite Battle Royale" in April this year. Their business plan is working perfectly fine, which is why many other game developers are starting to make free-to-play battle royale games.

The upcoming feature will benefit both sides as players will be happy to have a gifting feature and Epic Games will make much more money from it.

Gifting in 'Fortnite'

At the moment, "Fortnite Battle Royale" players can buy different V-Bucks packages in the game and then use V-Bucks to obtain buy cosmetic items from the store. Players can obtain V-Bucks while playing, but it is nearly impossible to buy a legendary cosmetic item without spending money on the game.

It is important to note that some players are not able to buy V-Bucks due to their location. Additionally, some players simply cannot afford to spend money on the video game, which is why the gifting feature will be a fantastic addition to the game.

Many other popular games allow their players to buy in-game items and gift them to their friends, and it is great that Epic Games is working on enabling a similar feature.

MrPopoTFS, a member of Epic Games' development team, posted this announcement on Reddit on June 27. The user clarified that the exact release date of this feature is still unknown, but that players will get an update on it once the developers figure out when it could come out.

"Gifting will be coming in the future. We don't have an exact date to share, but we will inform you once we do," the user wrote in the Reddit comment.

Season 5 coming soon

Season 4 of "Fortnite Battle Royale" is coming to an end and the fifth season will start shortly after it. Considering that players will have to buy another Battle Pass for the upcoming season, Epic Games may release the gifting feature together with Season 5.

Battle Pass will most likely retain the cost of 950 V-Bucks and will reward players with many cosmetic rewards as they level up. Season 5 will be released on July 12 at 4:00 AM ET, Epic Games confirmed.
