"Fortnite Battle Royale" is currently the most popular video game and it's not even one year old. The PvP mode of "Fortnite" was released on September 26, 2017, and the PvE version was released earlier, which is why Epic Games decided to celebrate its birthday this month. Officially, "Fortnite" came out on July 25, 2017, and the game developer will have a special celebratory in-game event next week.

Even though the video game is still in the beta phase, it has attracted over 125 million players. Additionally, "Fortnite Battle Royale" is getting ready to become one of the biggest games on the eSports scene as the developer announced a $100 million prize pool for its first competitive season.

The upcoming event will bring a few changes to both modes of "Fortnite," and it will also reward players with cosmetic items.

The birthday event

According to Epic Games, "Fortnite" will have a limited-time birthday event which will start on July 24. It is unknown how long the event will last, but it will most likely end before August. This event will bring a few gameplay changes and challenges which will allow players to earn some exclusive rewards.

The game developer published more details in a blog post, revealing that players will be able to earn special rewards from both modes of "Fortnite." PvP players will have a special Battle Bus, while husks in PvP mode will carry a tasty surprise. Additionally, players can see a sneak peek of what's waiting for them on July 24.

"Fortnite Battle Royale" players will get a new challenge set which will reward them with exclusive items.

  • Deal 1,000 damage to opponents to unlock the Fortnite Birthday! Emoticon
  • Dance at different birthday cakes to unlock the Happy Birthday! Spray
  • Play 14 matches to unlock 5,000 XP.
  • Complete all 3 challenges to earn the Birthday Cake Back Bling

Furthermore, players who enjoy the PvE mode will receive a special questline which will reward them with the Birthday Brigade Ramirez hero.

This game mode will also have special birthday llamas which may contain weapons/heroes from every event so far in the game.

Will the PvE mode be free?

"Fortnite" has achieved success with its battle royale mode, but the PvE mode is also very interesting. Epic Games announced that this mode will be free at some point in 2018, so it could happen during the birthday celebration. At the moment, players can buy this mode at a 50 percent discount.
