The latest updates for "Spider-Man" on PS4 reveal possible appearances from other Marvel characters in the game. Two newspaper images from the Daily Bugle contained easter eggs for Matt Murdock (a.k.a. Daredevil) and the Earth's Mightiest Heroes, The Avengers. This seemingly confirms that Insomniac Games' take on the web-slinger may open new possibilities for other Marvel characters to crossover and not limited to the Spider-Man cast.

There are also new details about the game's map size as Gear Nuke reported that it could be the biggest game map in any Spidey game in history.

The plot of the game will have Peter Parker trying to balance his life as both civilian and crimefighter when a new threat emerges from New York's criminal underworld.

Marvel character cameos in 'Spider-Man'

According to Game Rant, the Daily Bugle articles from "Spider-Man" revealed references related to other Marvel superheroes. First off, an article about a house for sale is located at 890 5th Avenue, which die-hard comic book fans will easily recognize as the home address of Avengers Mansion, the team's first base. Furthermore, the house is owned by a "prolific NYC Industrialist" which the website pointed out could be Tony Stark (a.k.a. Iron Man).

It is no surprise that The Avengers will appear in the game since Avengers Tower was spotted in its open-world map.

The second article revealed an advertisement for "Nelson and Murdock: Attorneys at Law." The law firm is owned by Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson, and it is no surprise that Man without Fear will show up to help Peter in the story. It is also noted that Matt's nemesis, Wilson Fisk, is also added to the game.

The E3 2018 gameplay trailers revealed that Peter will fight a new version of the Sinister Six consisting of Scorpion, Vulture, Rhino, Electro, Mister Negative, and an unknown member, who is the mastermind behind everything.

Other characters in the game include Miles Morales, Mary Jane Watson, Aunt May, Norman Osborn, Shocker, Black Cat, and Taskmaster.

Map size teased

According to Gear Nuke, Sony's presentation of the "Spider-Man" PS4 demo at E3 2018 revealed that the featured map is just one part of New York City. Fans who have tried the demo discovered that there are certain areas that are restricted, as they cannot access Central Park or the other islands in the world map. This indicates that open-world map for "Spider-Man" is much bigger than any other video game map, possibly rivaling other titles like "Grand Theft Auto 5," "The Wicher 3," and more.
