"Avengers: Infinity War" is one of the most popular movies right now, just like "Fortnite Battle Royale" is one of the most popular video games. Fans of both the movie and the game will be excited to hear that there will be the crossover between the two, and it's coming to the battle royale game tomorrow, May 8. Thanos, The Mad Titan, will drop into "Fortnite Battle Royale" for a limited time, so make sure you play the game and experience it!
There is no doubt that "Fortnite" has become incredibly popular over the last few months, and it keeps getting more and more players.
Joe and Anthony Russo, "Avengers: Infinity War" co-directors, are huge fans of the video game, which is what made this crossover much easier.
'Avengers' in the battle royale game
“Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup” will be added to "Fortnite Battle Royale" tomorrow and it will include the Infinity Gauntlet. The objective of the game will stay the same, as it will remain a last-man-standing game, but just like every other limited-time game mode, it will have some unique features.
According to EW, the artifact which contains six Infinity Stones will be placed on the map, and whoever finds the artifact will transform into Thanos. While we don't have many details about this game mode, it seems like this is going to be a 1v99 fight where 99 players will try to take Thanos down and become victorious.
"Fortnite Battle Royale" players wanted a 1v99 game mode, and they also asked for superheroes and villains. It turns out that Epic Games has been listening to the feedback all along, and the players will get a special surprise on May 8.
What made it possible?
Co-director Joe Russo said he would take a few breaks while editing "Avengers: Infinity War" to play "Fortnite Battle Royale.
" That is where the idea of this amazing crossover came from. The movie director got in touch with the creative director of Epic Games, and that is how it all started.
“It was really important that whatever we did, it had to be super authentic to both Fortnite and the Avengers: Infinity War, and something that fans of both would be excited about," said Donald Mustard, Epic Games' creative director.
He added that they agreed on a limited-time game mode an hour later, and Epic Games' development team started working on it immediately.
The special game mode will be available on every platform "Fortnite" supports, including mobile devices.
