"Fortnite Battle Royale" needed only a couple of months to become one of the most popular video games on the market. This battle royale game is free and both kids and adults find it fun to play, which is a big reason for its massive success. Epic Games, "Fortnite" developer, made a great product, and the company will not allow anyone to ruin gaming experience in this game.
Video game cheats are something every popular game deals with, and every game developer gives their best to prevent players from cheating. However, cheating in "Fortnite Battle Royale" will not only get you banned, but you could also go to court for it.
If you don't think it's true, take a look at Caleb Rogers' case. Rogers is a 14-year-old kid who is being sued by Epic Games for cheating in the popular video game, and the game developer refuses to dismiss the lawsuit.
Epic Games vs. 14-year-old cheater
According to "Fortnite Battle Royale" developer, Caleb Rogers was using cheats to "unlawfully modify" the video game. Apparently, the 14-year old also runs several YouTube channels he uses to promote the cheating software and make it popular among the wider audience. Even though Epic Games banned Rogers from the game multiple times, he kept coming back and ruining the experience for other players.
The 14-year-old cheater's actions were against Terms of Service and End-User License Agreement, which is something that forced the developer to take legal action against him.
Even though this all started last year, Epic Games decided to continue the lawsuit, so it will be interesting to see how it all ends.
Harsh penalty?
While many "Fortnite Battle Royale" players believe that the lawsuit is justified, there are some who believe that Epic Games is doing too much. It's a fact that the 14-year old broke the rules, and the game developer made it clear that such behavior would not be tolerated.
"PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" is the main rival of "Fortnite," and that game has dealt with many cheaters. Many players have stopped playing the game because their experience was ruined by the players who had an unfair advantage over them. "Fortnite" developer doesn't want this to happen, so it makes sense that they are doing everything in their power to go after cheaters.
One thing is certain: Cheating is not tolerated in "Fortnite Battle Royale," and if you do it, you will get banned sooner or later, and the game developer might take legal action against you. Play fair and keep it clean!
