"Fortnite Battle Royale" players are currently enjoying the fourth season of the popular video game. The new season has brought not just the new Battle Pass, but also numerous gameplay and map changes. One of the biggest changes on the map are the craters caused by the meteor impact, and players can find so-called hop rocks in these craters, enabling a low-gravity mode for a short duration.
Hop rocks divided "Fortnite Battle Royale" community as some players believe they are good for the game while some think they will eventually ruin it. Despite mixed feedback and many unhappy players, it is very unlikely that Epic Games will remove the low-gravity rocks any time soon.
As a matter of fact, a new limited-time game mode will soon be added to the game, and this game mode will be all about the low gravity and high-flying action.
Hop rocks limited-time game mode
At the moment, hop rocks can only be found in craters. While there are only a few hop rocks in most craters, Dusty Divot area has dozens of them, and that's where most players land for instant low-gravity action. However, it seems that a low-gravity limited-time game mode will soon come to the game, and it's a good guess that "Fortnite" developer will use hop rocks in this mode.
A few weeks ago, data miners found "LowGrav" folder in "Fortnite Battle Royale" game data. This folder was located in "Events" folder, which is a folder that contains every limited-time game mode, whether it has already been released or not.
The presence of "LowGrav" folder indicates that Epic Games will most likely release a new mode, but it's not exactly clear what the game mode will look like.
Most likely, there will be hop rocks all over the map and players will be able to use them for the infinite low-gravity action. However, it won't be surprising if the game developer simply removes hop rocks from this mode and enables low-gravity conditions on the entire map.
Other upcoming modes
There will be many other limited-time game modes coming to "Fortnite Battle Royale" soon, but the game developer hasn't revealed many details about them. However, most of the modes can be seen in the game files, and some of them sound very interesting.
