"Fortnite Battle Royale" received its 4.2 update on Wednesday, and data miners have already discovered a bunch of new interesting data. The update brought some interesting files, such as jetpack files and new skins, but it also contains some important information about the upcoming game modes. It appears that the next limited-time game mode will be Solid Gold V2, but players will be even more excited to hear that a competitive mode could come to the game soon.

A few months ago, Epic Games announced that a competitive mode would come to "Fortnite Battle Royale." Since the latest patch added competitive playlist data, many players believe that the competitive matchmaking will be added soon.

Epic Games added a competitive mode called Solo Showdown to the game! You can play the mode and become one of the best in the world, and earn a lot of V-Bucks while playing! All players will get a special spray after playing 50 games, but the best ones will be rewarded with V-Bucks.

It is important to note that everyone will have to play 50 or more games in order to enter the contest and appear on the leaderboard. Additionally, in order to be eligible for rewards, players have to be 16 or older and their "Fortnite Battle Royale" accounts must be registered on May 15, 2018, or earlier.

This is a limited-time competitive game mode which will end on May 21 at 10:00 Eastern Time.

Solo showdown scoring

Players will have points added to their leaderboard score and the total score will determine winners. For example, finishing first in a match will reward you with 100 points, while finishing ninth will add 65 points to your score. According to Epic Games, cumulative score across the contestants 50 matches will determine winners.

Solid Gold V2

Solid Gold V2 mode will most likely be the next limited-time game mode that will be added to the game.

The mode will feature a new Burst Assault Rifle and a Heavy Shotgun, and it seems that it will have three different playlists: solo, duos, and squads. 50v50 limited-time game mode has been out for nearly a week, so we can expect it to be replaced by Solid Gold V2 soon.
