"Fortnite Battle Royale" is currently the most popular battle royale game and it has over 45 million players. The game was released in September 2017 and it has become extremely popular in a short period of time. Epic Games, the game developer, has done a great job updating the game, which is a big reason why so many players enjoy the game.

At the moment, "Fortnite Battle Royale" only has one map, and a lot of players have been wondering whether the developer will add a new map soon. Fortunately, players have recently received an answer to this question as Eric Williamson, "Fortnite's" Lead Systems Designer, talked about it.

Possible new map for 'Fortnite Battle Royale'?

Eric Williamson recently talked about the popular video game to IGN's Expert Mode. Williamson talked about many different topics, including chest spawns, game development, and the possibility of a new map. Considering the rapid growth of the game, many players are expecting Epic Games to release another map, and the lead game developer shed some light on it.

"We've talked a bit about this internally," said Williamson when asked about the possibility of a new map for the game. "We just had a big map update and we've learned a lot through that process, adding new POIs. There is no urgency for us to create a new map right now. It's not something that we're getting a sense of urgency for and it's not a priority right now."

On the bright side, the lead developer did say that the development team is interested in adding new content to the existing map and making it feel "fresh." "Stay tuned, we have some interesting ideas," said Williamson in his interview with Expert Mode.

Random chest spawns and circle placement

If you have ever wondered whether you have a higher chance of finding a SCAR in Tilted Towers, or any other specific area of the map, the game developer has the answer for you. According to Eric Williamson, every chest is random and gives a completely random loot. If you have found some good weapons in a specific area, that means that you just got lucky.

The game developer said there were over 400 chests on the map, and approximately 70 percent of them are spawned every match with a randomized loot.

Williamson also revealed that the game is programmed to have the circle appear closer to the center of the map. This way, players don't have to travel too far and they can spend most of their games fighting other players.
