Why it still holds up today!

The original video game was launched back in 2009 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Story-wise, it is set in the year of 2125, 50 years after the events of the first game. Players take on the role of a member of the new "Red Faction," a group of guerilla freedom fighters who must liberate Mars from the oppressive rule of the Earth Defense Forces. Amidst its flaws, "Red Faction: Guerrilla" was a highly received game among critics and players for its open-world design and high emphasis on level destruction,

The game scored a scoring an 82 critic score on Metacritic which was aggregated from 29 critics.

IGN's Charles Onyett gave it an 8/10, citing, "While the game may not do everything right, it's your best bet for free-form demolition and unpretentious entertainment." Video gamer's Tom Orry praised it, saying, "Even with some flaws, though, Guerrilla is a great game that comes highly recommended, in no small part to some superb multiplayer game modes that should see the game gain quite a following.

Gamespot's Randolph Ramsay gave it an 8.5/10, stating that, "Though repetitive, This third-person action game is a great open-world adventure for anyone with an appetite for destruction." And Vandal's Fernando Fontanet-Bel gave it an 8.5/10, praising its destruction by saying, "The destruction returns to its maximum exponent.

"Red Faction Guerrilla" will offer you long hours of action and fun."

A not-so-surprising return!

Rumors of the remastered edition began floating around back in January and were the result of several listings that popped up on the European Gamestop retail store. These listing included both the Xbox One and PS4 ports. Any word on the exact release date for this edition remains elusive, however.
