The latest updates for "Dragon Ball FighterZ" reveal the release date for the first two DLC characters in the game's post-launch campaign. Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that popular "Dragon Ball" characters Bardock and Broly will be added to the roster on March 28, and the publisher revealed two teaser gameplay videos to hype-up the die-hard fans of the anime fighting game.
There are also rumors of a second batch of DLC fighters for the game as Reddit username DasVergeben leaked eight characters from the original "Dragon Ball," DBZ," and "Super" anime series.
The Reddit user also revealed the remaining characters for season 1 batch.
Bardock and Broly coming soon
Bardock and Broly are the first two characters that are added to the game and both have connections to Kakarot a.k.a. Son Goku. Bardock is the biological father of Goku and Raditz in the anime series, and he was instrumental in the revolt of the Saiyan race against the galactic tyrant Frieza and his army. The latter killed Bardock and the whole Saiyan race during the battle of Planet Vegeta due to their growing power, posing a threat to his reign.
The proud Saiyan warrior can dish out a ferocious wave of combos against his opponents and can utilize his signature moves such as "Final Revenger," "Last Riot Javelin," and "Raging Blast." Bardock can also transform into a "Super Saiyan" just like his son and this form drastically increases his strength and power.
As for Broly, he made his debut in the "DBZ" OVA movie "Broly - The Legendary Super Saiyan" and a dangerous enemy of the Z warriors. Broly hated Goku as an infant when the latter would not stop crying. This annoyed Broly until adulthood and his hatred for Goku increases whenever he sees him in person. He was also feared by his fellow Saiyans due to his dangerous potential and they have him killed along with his father, Paragus.
Broly can transform into his "Legendary Super Saiyan" form and dish out punishing attacks such as "Blaster Shell," "Eraser cannon," and "Full Power Energy Wave." Joining Bardock and Broly in the season 1 DLC batch include base form Goku, base form Vegeta, Fused Zamasu, Android 17, and Cooler.
Season 2 DLC batch teased
According to DasVergeben, the second batch of DLC characters for "FighterZ" are Tapion, Gogeta, Muten Roshi, Videl with Great Saiyanman, Raditz, Zarbon, Cabba, and Kale with Caulifa.
Tapion and Gogeta made their debuts in the OVA movies "Wrath of the Dragon" and "Fusion Reborn." Muten Roshi is the master of Goku and Krillin, while Videl is the daughter of Mister Satan and Son Gohan's wife. Raditz is Goku's older brother and Zarbon is Frieza's loyal lieutenant. Cabba, Kale, and Caulifa are the Saiyans of Universe 6.
