Bungie has finally rolled out the latest installment of their "This Week at Bungie" (TWAB) blog post as a hefty sum of improvements and fixes are bound to be dropped next week. Some of the most interesting topics that were discussed include Iron Banner's return and the introduction of the Masterworks Armor.
TWAB
As soon as the January 30 update goes live. Legendary Armor roster for "Destiny 2" has the chance to be dropped as a Masterwork.
Just like its weapon counterpart, players have a higher chance of getting these from vendors who offer Engrams or via Raids and Trials of the Nine. Stat rerolls are very much possible, though it was pointed out by Community Manager Cozmo that there will be a UI bug that will go alongside the Masterworks' release.
The bug somewhat prevents players from spamming the reroll feature. Players who try to rework their armor, in quick succession, will still get the same stats. However, Cozmo pointed out that the bug won't use up the materials needed for the reroll. Other benefits of the upcoming Masterwork include a three percent damage resistance while using a super per armor piece and a 15 percent damage reduction provided that Guardians have a complete set of Masterworks Armor.
Season 2's Iron Banner event will also commence next week. The blog post even revealed some of the upcoming weapons and items that are slated to be rolled out alongside the event. Below are some examples.
- Frostmire's Hex Scout Rifle
- Gunnora's Axe Shotgun
- Crimil's Dagger Hand Cannon
A Ghost shell, a Sparrow, and a new emblem that keeps track of a player's Iron Banner rank ups were also teased. An IB-themed ship was not shown, though it was already leaked early on.
DeeJ on Sandbox
Sandbox updates were not included in the latest blog post. Nonetheless, DeeJ recently took to Twitter to announce that such update is already down the pipeline.
He added that he already had discussions with Bungie's Sandbox Lead Design Josh Hamrick and went on stating that more details will be relayed to the "Destiny 2" community very soon.
'Destiny 2 ' and Rockstar Energy
In other "D2" news, the game's official Twitter page has announced its collaboration with Rockstar Energy as they put up the Rockstar Energy Crucible Challenge. Players will be competing against each other as they try to land a spot on the leaderboard.
Real-life "D2" loot will be up for grabs as the top ten players will be getting the Collector's Edition of the game. The top 3 will be bringing home an Alienware gaming rig while the first-place winner will be rewarded with a Destiny 2-themed Husqvarna 701 Enduro motorbike.
The Iron Banner event will return on January 30 and will run until February 6. Check out a video about "Destiny 2" below.
