After months of waiting Studio Wildcard has officially released "ARK: Survival Evolved's" latest expansion - "Aberration." Some fans have already delved into the DLC's story mode and found quite a discovery in the end. If players are anything to go by, it may well seem that the new game segment could have teased the game's next expansion.

3rd DLC?

"ARK" player and YouTuber known as ThickFreedom recently posted several gameplay videos from the "Aberration" DLC to showcase some of his discoveries in the expansion.

One of the clips includes a final boss battle who goes by the moniker Rockwell.

The player took several minutes to beat the boss with some glitches on the side. The latter part of the cutscene after the boss has been beaten could be one of the most interesting parts of the game as it featured what could be an entirely new ark.

Unlike the current ark in "Aberration," the teased ark is lush with greenery. Massive structures can be seen from afar suggesting that it was already inhabited. However, there were no creatures spotted in that short clip. Those who got to see it even compared the new ark to "Titanfall's" simulation dome which is indeed pretty similar.

Next expansion hints

Fans might recall that a third expansion was already hinted at early on by the developer, though details about it were pretty difficult to come by back then.

Previous Q & A sessions with Studio Wildcard co-founder Jeremy Stieglitz already hinted of "ARK's" next content after "Aberration."

Per Stieglitz, the yet to be announced third DLC of "ARK" will serve as the concluding part of the game. He also hinted that there will be a new character in the next game segment, not to mention that the expansion will have what he calls some "higher stakes." He even stated that the stories of the surviving characters of previous arks will continue in the third DLC.

However, he tipped that some of these characters might not make it.

Meanwhile, the community is as of late traversing the depths of the "Aberration" DLC as elemental hazards within the broken ark are put into play. Dangers such as gas leaks, elemental hazards, radiation exposure, and even earthquakes are now experienced by players.

Nevertheless, Wildcard has rolled out new tools that will help players survive the unforgiving conditions of the new ark.

Meanwhile, Stieglitz also revealed in a recent tweet that the crossplay between Xbox One and Windows 10 players is slated to drop this Thursday, December 14. Check out a video about "ARK: Survival Evolved" here:
