The game of the year and multi-awarded action RPG, “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” has just received a new update that brings an upgrade from the native 1800 resolution to 4K graphics and more.
In an official statement reported by WCCFTech, game developer CD Projekt RED confirmed that the new 1.51 update is now available for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” It added that the latest patch allows players to take advantage of the additional power provided by the Sony PS4 Pro.
It means the main game and all the additional content feature now offer support for the 4K resolution and a small boost to performance when players play on PS4 Pro system.
The patch size
On Wednesday night, the new update went live and initial reports indicate that the new patch has a 140 MB file size. It is packed with the PlayStation 4 Pro support, which the studio promised earlier and it appears that CD Projekt RED has now fulfilled that promise.
On the other hand, the developer assured the same thing for players who will grab the soon-to-release Xbox One X. The company president Adam Kicisnki announced in September that it will also provide Xbox One X support before the end of 2017.
“We’ve prepared a 4K version which will be available on PlayStation Pro in just a few days and by the end of the year, it will be available on Xbox One X,” Kicisnki said.
“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is currently available to play on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
Gamers received “Blood and Wine” as the second and final expansion in May 2016 before the entire team shifted to focus on its next title called “Cyberpunk 2077.”
Other exciting tidbits
Speaking of CD Projekt RED’s upcoming open-world RPG, recent news indicates a slew of interesting tidbits about the futuristic video game. Featuring both single-player and multiplayer modes, the title is currently under intensive development that involves a substantial increase in production costs.
An insider also leaked that this title will have a world that is four times bigger than the third installment of “The Witcher” series. Based on hints from the game developer itself, the next game will likely launch before June 2019.
The Witcher 4 coming?
Because of the phenomenal success of Geralt’s adventure game series, many are still wondering if “The Witcher 4” is in the works.
Apparently, voice actor Doug Cockle, who takes on the titular role, said he does not know anything about a fourth game.
He revealed, however, that he likes to also get involved in “Cyberpunk 2077” as he enjoys working with the development team. Cockle shared that they joked about it a lot but he has not received a call just yet.
