The latest updates for "Street Fighter 5" will feature the official announcement of the sequel's "Arcade Edition" on the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms. The updated game will include two new game modes, gallery, user interface, V-triggers, and all of the DLC characters.

Capcom officially confirmed the existence "Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition" after several online retail outlets revealed the game earlier than planned. The Japanese game publisher also streamed a new teaser trailer along with an official Release Date on Jan. 16.

Ryu vs Akuma in the new trailer

The trailer starts with Ryu meditating inside a temple as the scenery shifts to a giant waterfall. The latter is preparing to fight his inner demons in the form of the Satsui No Hado, and glowing energy slowly approaches him behind the waterfall. The energy came from Akuma, and the two begin to fight one another.

Akuma gains the upper hand against his opponent as Ryu struggles to contain the Satsui No Hado as he fears he will lose control over himself if he succumbs to the dark power.

The trailer also featured several characters from the sequel such as Chun-Li, Menat, Abigail, Laura, Rasheed, and Kolin. Capcom will reveal more details about the "Arcade Edition" during their panel at the New York Comic-Con 2017 event.

New game features

"Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition" will add the two DLC packs from the original sequel. The DLC packs contain the playable characters from its post-launch plans such as Guile, Alex, Ibuki, Urien, Balrog, Juri, Kolin, Menat, Akuma, Abigail, and Ed.

While Capcom has not yet announced the final character in the game's DLC Pack 2, YouTube username Vesper Arcade speculated that Guy's ninja master, Zeku could be next fighter and they will officially reveal him during their NYCC panel.

The long-rumored Arcade Mode and Extra Battle are added to the updated sequel. Arcade Mode allows players to take six different paths and fight CPU opponents to reveal each character's unique ending.

Extra Battle Mode will feature a series of time exclusive challenges and players can use their fight money to receive an exclusive premium outfit each month.

Complete all monthly challenges, and they will unlock a special premium costume exclusive to this mode.

Other features include a new game interface and secondary character V-Triggers. Gamers can purchase the "Arcade Edition" online on the PlayStation Store and Steam for $39.99. Current game users will receive an all-new content for free when an in-game update becomes available during its release.
