The latest updates for "Injustice 2" will feature "Mortal Kombat" creator and game producer, Ed Boon, teasing the possibility that NetherRealm Studios will port the sequel to the Nintendo Switch console.

The game is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles and the developers will look to expand their reach with other up-and-coming video game platforms. There are also new theories about the last two remaining characters joining Ryan Choi's Atom in the DLC Pack 3.

Nintendo Switch version coming soon

Boon told GameSpot that "Injustice 2" could work well on the Nintendo Switch's system, but he suggested that there could be some shortcomings when developing and porting the game to the console.

"Yeah, I think at the end of the day you can make almost any game... there are inevitable compromises, but you know, you can make some version of Injustice on the Atari 2600," Boon said. "It's not going to be great, but you can make something."

The "Mortal Kombat" creator seems confident that the game will do well on the Switch despite encountering some obstacles in its development plans. That said, the technical challenges could lead to NetherRealm hiring an outside studio to handle the porting process.

The studio could likely port the sequel in the PC platform as Amazon France and Dutch retailer website, GameMania posted the Deluxe Edition of the game.

The last two DLC characters

NetherRealm announced that The Atom will join "Injustice 2's" DLC Pack 3 along with two unnamed characters.

ComicBook.com theorized that the remaining characters could be Teen Titans member Raven, The Enchantress, John Constantine, and Spawn.

Spawn has been the most requested guest character for "Injustice 2" after Boon made a character poll last year. Hellboy will be added to the second DLC Pack alongside Black Manta and Raiden, and he is scheduled to launch in November.

Other characters being rumored for the game's roster are Watchmen members Rorschach and Doctor Manhattan, Ra's al Ghul, Etrigan the Demon, Katana, Booster Gold, Hawkgirl, and Stargirl.

There are also new premiere skins for both DC heroes and villains such as Shazam, Blackfire, Arkham Knight, and the CW Network versions of the Green Arrow, Supergirl, Firestorm, Atom, Black Canary, and The Flash.

Th sequel will feature Batman and Superman joining forces once again to stop Brainiac and Gorilla Grodd's Secret Society from conquering earth.
