PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” (PUBG) has made an impressive feat in the gaming world. The fan-favorite battle royale title from Bluehole has broken another record on Steam. The game is now the King of Steam surpassing the popular title “Dota 2” in terms of concurrent player count.

In addition, the title has recently purged hackers attempting to cheat their way in the title.

With its effective Anti-cheat System, the game is currently enjoyed by its player base who is not troubled by cheaters.

Anti-cheat system

On its official Twitter account, “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” announced that it has permanently banned more than 150,000 cheaters. These abusive players are cheating on PUBG in all kinds of way since the game’s early access. More than 10 million copies of the game have been sold and cheating has been very rampant.

The practice is so severe that on September 13 alone, the game was able to ban 8,000 players caught cheating. The figures reflecting the number of banned account is very impressive.

The fan-favorite battle royale title utilizes BattlEye for the protection of its system.

This is an anti-cheat system intended to ban players automatically upon activating any program or hack to gain an advantage over others in an unfair way. These bans take place even before the cheater has the chance to enter the game. Game creator Brendan Greene shared a few days ago that Microsoft is now helping Bluehole design a strong anti-cheat and security system.

The BattlEye anti-cheat system is not available on consoles. Most likely, the new system will be intended to provide the same security features for the game’s Xbox One version.

King of Steam

Meanwhile, the game has recently set a new record on Steam.

Many gaming enthusiasts now call the game the king of Steam. “PUBG” is now the number one game on Steam surpassing “Dota 2” The game, today has 1,349,584 players. On the other hand, “Dota 2” holds a previous record of 1,291,328 in March 2017.

The fan-favorite battle royale title has now taken over Steam and has surpassed other popular titles such as “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive,” “Fallout 4,” and “Grand Theft Auto V.” it is worth noting that the game has reached its one million mark of Concurrent players in the previous week. In other words, it took eight days for the title to add 200,000 more players in a period of just eight days.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds” recently rolled out a new update and has seen several changes. This includes new buildings to loot, a new gun, a foggy weather condition, and the inclusion of the first-person leaderboards.
