A few days ago, Blizzard released the highly anticipated “Overwatch” Patch 1.15. The massive update features balance changes on heroes such as Mercy, D.Va, and Reinhardt. It also rolls out several bug fixes to improve the gaming experience of the players.

The highlight of the latest patch is the brand new Escort Map called Junkertown. The map is set in a post-apocalyptic Australian Outback and features the popular Australian Junkers—Junkrat and Roadhog. It is now available to players using PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. However, the map will not be accessible to the Competitive Play of the popular first-person shooter title for one week.

No Junkertown on Competitive

In the official “Overwatchforum, game’s lead engineer Bill Warnecke recently confirmed that the new Escort Map would be disabled in the Competitive Play of the game. Junkertown will not be available in this mode until September 25. Players can start accessing it on September 26. The move from the developer seems helpful to players. This way, players can get themselves familiar with the map before playing them in the Competitive. They can access it on the Quick Play and in the Arcade.

The new Escort Map

The new Escort Map was first launched during the Gamescom at Cologne, Germany on August 21. The walkthrough features a comic presentation headed by Roadhog and Junkrat.

Junkertown stayed in the game’s Public Test Realm for several weeks before it was released on September 19.

One of the many speculations built around the map is the Junk Queen. Fans have been hyping up the character who was introduced as a voiceover playing in the background during the walkthrough trailer. Some fans even shared the image of the character based on their imagination.

Next game hero

There are also several claims from fans that the Junk Queen will be the next game hero. Most likely, this prediction came from the recent hype caused by the Australian heroes Roadhog and Junkrat. Blizzard released its latest Comic issue revealing the backstory of the budding friendship between the heroes.

It is still too early to speculate about Hero 26, or the next game hero.

Game director Jeff Kaplan previously revealed in the Developer Update that they have already tried playing Hero 26 internally. He shared that they had fun with the character. However, Kaplan also clarified that hero 26 would not soon.
