The official roster of WNBA’s teams will now be playable in EA’s upcoming game, “NBA Live 18.” The new addition to the game will also allow players to play using the superstar legends of the women’s basketball league. More future integration
In the long list of gaming history, this is the first time that the Women’s National Basketball Association’s (WNBA) teams will be included in “NBA Live 18.” The official teams and players will be available for players of the upcoming game that will be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
In a report from WWG, game’s Executive Producer Sean O’Brien, the latest partnership between the game and the WNBA is a revolutionary event that they are extremely proud of. Players can expect that incredible women athletes will be integrated into the game in a meaningful and authentic approach. Furthermore, the executive producer noted that this is just the beginning of more integration the franchise will introduce to its fan base in the near future.
Women in the game
EA’s upcoming basketball title will be the first video game to feature the WNBA. Lisa Borders, president of WNBA underlined that Electronic Arts’ ingenuity and expertise will be a great platform to show the superstars and the league as well, says WWG.
The most recent integration according to Borders is a new and exciting way to let the fans experience WNBA in a totally different fashion.
For their part, Electronic Arts will introduce notable names in the league, which includes 2014 WNBA MVP Maya Moore, four-time WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner, one of the WNBA’s top 15 players of all time in 2011 Diana Taurasi, and 2012 WNBA MVP Tina Charles.
Other names that are expected to be in the game are Sylvia Fowles, Alisha Gray, Chelsea Gray, Jonquel Jones, and Alyssa Thomas to name a few. The game developer launched head scans of the league’s players and conducted motion capture sessions with the number 1 overall draft pick for the San Antonio Stars-- Kelsey Plum for instance.
Fans of the gaming title will have access to fine-tuned and well-crafted Ratings and Skill Moves for a more authentic and distinct gaming performance.
Electronic Arts has already scheduled the release date of “NBA Live 18” on September 2017. While there is no specific date revealed yet, most likely more information about the game will be revealed within this month.
