Niantic recently released the next Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon GO. Players have the limited time to capture team Valor's mascot, Moltres, because it would only be available through next Monday. Moltres will appear in raid battles and players have to team-up to take it down. Moltres is a flying fire-type Pokemon but it is not difficult to defeat it.
How to defeat Moltres?
According to a report from Pokemon GO Hub, Moltres is weaker than the previous legendary Pokemon Lugia and Articuno. A report claims that it took only four Pokemon GO players to defeat Moltres and capture it.
But what were their strategies to take down Moltres easily?
Fire and flying type Pokemon like the legendary Moltres is very vulnerable to rock, electric and water-type attacks. The best way to fight Moltress is by using the Pokemon Golem that has a stone edge or rock throw move set. Vaporeon, Gyarados, Omastar, Feraligatr, and Tyranitar are also good counters for Moltres.
The players that defeated Moltres easily used Golems with double rock moves and Tyranitars with stone edge move set. Based on Pokemon GO Hub’s stat table, Moltres definitely has higher attack compared to Lugia and Articuno, but Moltres’ defense is extremely low. Lugia has the highest defense rate and Boss CP compared to Articuno and Moltres.
Some players claim that defense does not matter since legendary creatures cannot be used as gym defenders in Pokemon GO.
How to defeat upcoming legendary Pokemon Zapdos?
The next legendary creature to arrive in Pokemon GO is Zapdos. Zapdos will start appearing in Raid Battles from August 7 to 14. Zapdos is an electric flying type Pokemon.
Players should avoid using water type creatures to fight it. Zapdos takes effective damage from ice and rock type Pokemon. The best way to fight Zapdos is to use Golem that has stone edge or rock throw move set. Rock, grass, electric and dragon type Pokemon like Tyranitar, Dragonite, Ryhdon, Jinx, Golem, and Piloswine takes minimum damage from Zapdos.
Prepare for Ho-Oh
The release of the fire and flying type legendary creature Ho-Oh is still unknown. It has a Boss CP of 55251 and it can have Max Capture CP of 2657. To prepare for its arrival, players must use rock, electric and water type Pokemon to fight it. Ho-Oh takes double damage from rock types.
The best Pokemon to fight Ho-Oh is Golem that has a stone edge or rock throw move set. Tyranitar, Vaporeon, Gyarados, Omastar, and Jolteon are also best counters for Ho-Oh. Pokemon GO players should be careful with Ho-Oh’s solar beam because it would completely devastate rock and water types.
