The minor change that has been rolled out to the Raid Rewards System has nerfed the two fan-favorite and sought-after items. The Golden Razz Berries and Rare Candies in “Pokemon Go” are the two most affected items by the latest change in the rewards.

Latest reward system changes to raids

On August 16, I reported about the minor tweak that was rolled out in the Raid Rewards System of “Pokemon Go.” Aside from the usual Rare Candies, Revives, and TMs, Potions have been added to the rewards. The tweak was initially welcomed with excitement since Potions has been running low for several players who have been frequenting the raids.

Players can easily get it from PokeStops and Gyms for free. However, by including them as a reward for winning raids, the player can heal their monsters more quickly and can get back to raids to capture Legendaries.

Raid rewards

Yesterday, several players have reported that the rates of Golden Razz Berries and Rare Candies appeared to have significantly dropped as compared before. Recently, the Silph Research Group shared their recent discoveries about how the raid System worked in the game. This is a fan-group dedicated to uncovering the secrets of the popular augmented reality title. The research revealed that the game has set up ratios for rewards. In other words, the game nerfed the drop rates for Golden Razz Berries and rare Candies.

According to the Silph Road, the rewards that players earn in the raids are divided into bundles. These are allocated according to the raid Level and the number of Premier Balls a player got during the battle. Every raid Level has its own corresponding set of Reward bundles, which contains a fixed number of items. Level 1 Raid will only give our 1 rare Candy for every reward Bundle.

On the other hand, a level 5 Raid will give 3 Rare Candies for every bundle. The same applies to the Revives and the Golden Razz Berries, which varies on the Raid Level the players participated.

Adjustments

According to Silph Road, their research yielded that the game recently made several adjustments to the drop rates of the Rare Candies and Golden Razz Berries to pay off for the inclusion of Potions.

With the latest changes, players can no longer expect to get 30 percent chance of obtaining Golden Razz Berries or rare candies after winning the raid. Right now, it appears that players only have between 13 and 18 percent chance of getting the items. This is still dependent if the game allocates all types of Potions evenly or if Potions are also distributed based on the Raid Level being played.

With the Legendary Birds available until August 31, players would appreciate it if the company could provide something about the distribution rates of the rewards in “Pokemon Go.” It appears that the game will be getting more tweaks in the future as more raid events are expected to happen.
