Starfire recently received a new gameplay through the streaming event spearheaded by NetherRealm Studios. The Tamaranian Queen now has a confirmed release date in “Injustice 2” along with new shaders. The most recent activity by the game developer also revealed the fighting prowess of the “Teen Titans” character.

New gameplay

On August 8, 2017, NetherRealm Studios through its official Twitch account showed the gameplay of the latest addition to the roster of fighters in “Injustice 2.” The gameplay highlighted the moves of the Tamaranian Queen. Players now have an idea on how to use this DLC character in fighting against other casts from the DC Universe, “Mortal Kombat,” and others.

The game developer also shared important details about that new character in the game. Among these include that Starfire is a beginner character. This means that she has movesets smaller than other fighters. However, NetherRealm Studios also revealed that her abilities are straightforward. In addition to the melee and jab attacks, the Tamaranian Queen’s fighting style can float, can make projectiles out of green energy, and can create weapons.

Release date

After her reveal through a trailer shown at the San Diego Comic-Con 2017, NetherRealm Studios confirmed today that the Tamaranian Queen is now a playable character for Season Pass holders. For players who do not have this pass, they can wait until August 15 to get their hands on the latest DLC character added to the game.

Shaders

Aside from her movesets and abilities, the game developer also released her shaders. One of her shaders gives her a look similar to her nemesis and sister, Blackfire. This shader alters her hair and energy blast. It is refreshing to see that the character has a new look outside of her default attire.

DLC characters

At this point, the next playable character in the fighting game is anybody’s guess.

In the past, Game Director Ed Boon hinted on several clues for the upcoming characters. In July, there were several speculations that Black Mantra will be one of the upcoming fighters in the game. On Twitter, Boon also shared a cryptic image of what appears to be the robotic assassin Cyrax of “Mortal Kombat.”

There were also speculations that Constantine, Spawn, or Static will be the next set of characters that will soon be introduced in “Injustice 2.” NetherRealm Studios, for their part, have remained mum on the issue. Starfire’s latest arrival in the game follows the release of Sub-Zero and Red Hood. You can check out her latest gameplay released today.
