The “Overwatch” Summer Games 2017 has just kicked off, and we’re treated to a cool sizzle reel featuring all of the new stuff.Game director Jeff Kaplan managed to amazingly deliver everything he mentioned during last week’s developer update, and now fans are raring to play. While the event has brought over the fewest items so far, they can also unlock the cosmetic items from last year they couldn’t be bought with in-game credits. With that being said, let’s take a look at the highlights of the “Overwatch” Summer Games 2017.

New Skins

Possibly the biggest addition to the event is all the new cosmetics items players have.

Characters like Mercy, Sombra, Widowmaker, Soldier 76, Junkrat, Reaper, and McCree have gotten a new legendary skin which is mostly beach themed. Blizzard has decided to listen to their fans and put on some more silly costumes like Grillmaster: 76, and Sombra’s Tulum. Since the loot box system got a rehaul, there’s a big chance that players can unlock these new cosmetics much easier now. If all else fails, these costumes can be bought with 3000 credits, so it’s best to save up an ample amount of coins before the event ends.

Lucioball

The iconic Lucioball finally returns to "Overwatch" after a year since its original release. This arcade brawl plays out in a 3-v-3 match wherein your objective is to push the ball into the enemy’s goal.

While it’s a pretty basic concept, there are things like the jump pads and Lucio’s wall riding abilities to keep in mind. Those who are looking to play more seriously can try the competitive mode that has its own set of placement matches. If you manage to climb to the top 500 spot, you’ll gain a special spray. If you play the Luciobll arcade mode, you’ll get a free “Overwatch” loot box if you win!

Buying past skins

There’s a big chance that those who participated in the past games didn’t get a chance to pick out their favorite items from last year. Luckily, Blizzard has unlocked them again, and they can finally be bought with coins. However, the best part of this is that they follow the game’s standard pricing instead of the tripled seasonal event pricing.

That legendary Tracer skin you’ve always wanted is only 1000 credits while Mercy’s “Piece of cake!” voice line only costs 25 coins. Now’s the best time to buy all your favorite cosmetic items from the “Overwatch” Summer Games 2016 as there probably won’t be a better opportunity than now.
