The latest updates for "Destiny 2" will feature more game activities after completing the main story and no third party app support for the PC version.
What's next after the main story?
Bungie community manager David Dague a.k.a. DeeJ teased gaming fans of possible activities after they finish the main storyline in "Destiny 2." He told Heavy that although he did not want to spoil the ending, he feels that players will want more content in the sequel providing a wide variety of expansion ideas that the developers can come up with and implement them into the game.
"What we want to do is immerse people's minds in the world of the game and not force them to leave to make their experience complete," DeeJ said. "I think you're going to find, even independent of the raid, there's a far greater variety of things to do to enjoy your Guardian lifestyle after the final cutscene is played out."
It seems that Bungie's goal is to keep players interested in "Destiny 2" after finishing the main story, long enough for them to create future expansions for the game. DeeJ understands how players would want more out of the game and like to add a strong feeling excitement and expectation from the "Destiny" universe.
The developers will be bringing out NPCs out of the Tower or other areas into the sequel, hoping that the destinations could keep players interested. The game map will have more diverse content such as Lost Sectors and Public Events.
No third party apps for the PC
One of the issues that Bungie is trying to prevent is the hackers and cheaters that were intentionally trying to ruin the gameplay of "Destiny 2" in the PC platform. It is no surprise that they will use these kinds of tactics to stay ahead of other players and even ruin the chances of an exciting and fun game session.
With that in mind, Bungie will implement several safeguards and security plans for the PC version. However, gamers will not be able to use any third-party applications on the PC that will insert the code into the game client.
The sequel will block any attempt, thus making the application incompatible.
This will also affect gamers who like to stream gameplay videos using Game Capture on the OBS, or Xsplit. The programs can still be used in the PC version only if the user set their computers to Windowed Mode. Softwares like "Who's talking," and frame rate and statistics overlays such as EVGA Provision XOC, MSi Afterburner, and Fraps are not supported in "Destiny 2" PC version.
This is a good move from Bungie as these third party apps can be used by hackers and cheaters to enter the game for nefarious schemes. A small sacrifice for players to prevent them from ruining the sequel's impressive features and everyone's game time.
"Destiny 2" will launch on Sept. 6 for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, Oct. 24 for the PC.
