Blizzard has been teasing a new cinematic for “Overwatch” later this week at Gamescom 2017. While they haven’t hinted what this may be, they’ve released a new trailer for the upcoming Junkertown map. Inline with this, Blizzard has also revealed a short clip featuring Roadhog and Junkrat which sheds a little more light on the upcoming map. It’s a pretty fun animation that also delves more into the two’s personal lore and personalities.

Junkrat and Roadhog are back for some mayhem

Blizzard has shared a short new animation called “Junkertown: The Plan” which gives fans a little more insight into who Junkrat and Roadhog really are.

The animation starts off with the both of them getting kicked out of the metal scrapheap of a town due to some crazy and shady business they were up to. However, Junkrat was insistent that they find a way back in so the duo hatches a plan to enter the city and get their revenge.

After a worldwide heist later, they return to Junkertown’s entrance with a payload carrying some gold and explosives. Junkrat’s main modus is to deliver the vehicle to the queen’s room and blow it all up. Roadhog and Junkrat share a few quips about the obviously half-baked scheme, but the two eventually decide to go for it. However, just as they were about to enter, Junkrat ruins the whole plan by revealing their identities.

While the whole animation itself is pretty silly and predictable, the whole theme fits perfectly into who these two characters are. You can watch the whole video below to learn more.

Junkertown

That aside, Blizzard has also shared a short new trailer featuring the Junkertown map itself. As previously speculated, it's going to be an escort map as you’ll be weaving through the ravaged city streets with the payload carrying gold and explosives as seen in the trailer.

Needless to say, the map contains some visual clues about the overall lore and details about Junkrat and Roadhog’s home. At one point in the clip, we see the vehicle they were driving during their introduction clip way back when. We also get a good look at Junkrat’s studio where he’s designing his strange contraptions like his traps and mines.

The clip also pans out into a sea of gold which hints at Junkrat’s treasure. The whole video is narrated by the queen of Junkertown who also delves more into the location’s personal history. She firmly believes that they won the omnic war and that there is no place for robots to live in their land. Moreover, Junkertown is basically a free-for-all location which makes it similar to “Mad Max.”
