The much awaited Community Test Environment of “Battlefield 1” for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is finally available. DICE also revealed the download sizes for the consoles as well as the regions where it is currently available.

CTE

The Community Test Environment, also known as CTE, is an environment in the popular first person shooter game, “Battlefield 1” where participants can help the developer in testing out the upcoming contents of the game. Among the stuff that can be found in the game’s CTE includes improved/tweaked content, new features, and other things that are not yet available for public release.

This is also the place where balance changes, fixes, new weapons, and maps are made available prior to their official release in the game’s live servers. In turn, the game developer collects data and asks for feedback on the contents through the CTE Subreddit. The game’s Community Test Environment allows the game developer to share with the participating players the development process. This is also one way of getting feedback early prior to the official release. Moreover, the CTE is designed to enhance the overall gaming experience.

Size, Regions, and other requirements

Right now, the CTE is available to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users.

In the past, this is only open to PC users. Players who would like to participate in the testing environment will need to have at least 40GB of free space on Sony’s console and 42GB on the Microsoft console. Moreover, only those who hold Premium Passes will be allowed to participate in the CTE. Currently, the Community Test Environment is available only for North America and the EU.

It will only be a matter of time that this will also be made available to the consoles in other regions.

Steps on how to access

For PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users, you have to first log in to the game on your console. After that, go to the Main Menu, and click More Tab. When you are already on the tab, you will see the icon of the game’s Community Test Environment.

For Premium Pass holders, right now, they can enjoy the In the Name of the Tsar content of the game.

Fans are right now anticipating that DICE would make the latest Supply Drop mode available to the CTE to further enhance and make the necessary adjustments.
