The first-person shooter video game “Battlefield 1” continues to be a huge hit. Electronic Arts recently announced that the game reached 21 million players as of the end of June. The game’s revenue and sales are still increasing as its next expansion pack release date is approaching. “In the Name of Tsar” expansion will be out in September, the number of players is expected to increase massively after the release of the new expansion.

What is a Community Test Environment?

According to a report from GameSpot, DICE recently brought “Battlefield 1” to Community Test Environment consoles like Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The Community Test Environment is now downloadable for console players with a Premium Pass to the game. Allowing the gaming community to test any new game contents before officially releasing it is a great way to identify the player’s reaction and to instantly address potential issues in the future.

Community Test Environment (Cte) is quite similar to Public Test Realms used in other games like “League of Legends,” “World of Warcraft,” “PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds,” and “Overwatch.” Not all players can download “Battlefield 1” CTE. Players must either have a Premium Pass, an Xbox Live Gold subscription or a PlayStation Plus subscription.

How to access CTE?

If players have the requirements for the CTE, players can register by clicking “More” in “Battlefield 1” main menu.

But take note that registering does not guarantee an access. The main purpose of allowing players to access the CTE is to test the upcoming “Battlefield 1” expansion pack, “In The Name of Tsar.” Players must have plenty of free space on their gaming platforms before downloading “Battlefield 1” CTE. The game can occupy around 40GB of storage on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Upcoming Specialization feature

The game’s Specialization feature was being tested recently by a player, showing how the game might be getting some sort of perks system. Specializations that are exclusive to class Assault are the juggernaut and controlled demolition. Specializations for Medic are the stimulant syringe and concealed rescue.

Specializations for Support are pin down, hasty retreat and unbreakable. Specializations for a Scout are perimeter alarm and scapegoat.

“Battlefield 1” was officially released worldwide on October 21, 2016 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. As the game’s first anniversary approaches, avid players are hoping to see more exciting features in the game.
