Blizzard Entertainment announced new game changes for "Overwatch" regarding the upcoming playable character #Doomfist on the roster and a new Punishment system being implemented soon.
Plans for a new punishment system
Game director Jeff Kaplan announce that Blizzard is planning something big to fix the current ruling system during "Overwatch" matches. He posted on the game's official forum website that one player asked him if they will make a punishment that will actually make a difference for players who are enjoying their match sessions.
Kaplan stated that he and the developers will no longer "silence" these players who are purposely throwing and ruining an "Overwatch" match will be developing a new punishment system for them very soon.
It is no surprise that there are still players who continue to ruin the fun and competitiveness of other players during a match session. From rage quitting during Competitive Play, illegal game farming to sabotaging the chances of winning for their own teammates.
Players around the world have voiced out their frustrations upon the matter to the point that they even blamed Blizzard for their lack of effort in these situations. Now, Kaplan has heard their voices and will now have the means to implement harsher and more effective methods to punish these players for messing with the matches.
The new "Overwatch" punishment system is not the only thing the developers are working on. Blizzard is also planning an updated version of "Play of the Game," which should give players more highlight experiences and the ability to save and upload them from outside the game.
Various gameplay nerfs for Doomfist
Blizzard Entertainment will introduce the newest member of the "Overwatch" roster, Doomfist. His real name is Akande Ogundimu, Doomfist wields a massive cybernetic glove that is strong enough level buildings and makes seismic shock waves from the ground. He also one of the leaders of the terrorist organization, Talon alongside Reaper, Widowmaker and Sombra.
The new hero was recently released in the game's PTR for the PC platform and despite the impressive gameplay that was shown in various live video streaming sessions and YouTube videos, players have noticed that the character is too powerful and needed some much in-game balance and tweaks.
Blizzard took the liberty and time to fix and improve Doomfist before the official add him to the game's main roster in the console versions.
The first change is that Doomfist's Rocket Punch Attack has been reduce to 20 percent. The second change will add a new UI indicator for the character's Seismic Slam attack, which will display how much damage will it deal and how much it will dealt.
IGN also released video showcasing Doomfist multiple skins, emotes, animations, spray paints and many more.
There are also other "Overwatch" characters that Blizzard plans to change as well. McCree's Flashbang attack will be buffed so that the targets are slowed down more significantly during gameplay. Reaper's Shadow Step will also be buffed with reduced VO and SFX distance. Zarya's Graviton Surge will increase as all moving abilities of her targets are now disabled.
Finally, Reinhardt's hammer swing is now increased to ten percent and his Charge attack no longer deals damage to another charging hero, though both characters can still be knocked out.
"Overwatch" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
