It seems that the latest game details for "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be revealed at the D23 Expo event, as gaming fans are eager to find out if Square Enix will announce the possible release date and new Disney worlds added for the sequel.
Official release date announcement teased
Square Enix will be showing off new game details for "Kingdom Hearts 3" at the D23 Expo event this week as part of the show's new program "Level Up," alongside Insomniac Games' "Spider-Man" and "Star Wars Battlefront 2" from Electronic Arts/DICE.
The sequel's D23 Expo appearance was first teased at the end of the sequel's last trailer at the "Kingdom Hearts" orchestra concert.
Game director Tetsuya Nomura stated an interview that a new game demo will be featured during the presentation and stated that the footage revealed "small portion" of the game. Here is the trailer below.
Nomura added that the next trailer will have Japanese and English versions. The video will have more battles and longer running time than the orchestra version.
With that being said, can gaming fans expect a release date announcement for the PlayStation 4 at D23 Expo?
There have been several rumors regarding the game's PS4 release date as many claimed that it could launch in the next three years alongside "Final Fantasy 7" remake. Square Enix's previously published its financial results and listed both games in the fiscal year of 2018 and beyond.
Rumored new Disney worlds
The Disney worlds that were shown in past gameplay trailers of "Kingdom Hearts 3" are Mt. Olympus from "Hercules," Corona from "Tangled" and San Fransokyo from "Big Hero 6."
However, gaming fans have requested more Disney worlds from movies such as "Frozen," "Toy Story," "The Incredibles," "Cars," "Wreck-it Ralph," etc.
There are also rumors and speculations that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will feature worlds from the Marvel and "Star Wars" franchise since they are now owned by Disney.
With D23 Expo happening this weekend, it seems that one of the mentioned Disney worlds could be featured in sequel's new gameplay trailer and might feature Sora team up with the likes of Elsa, Anna, Hiro Hamada, Baymax, Ralph, Mowgli and many more.
Gaming fans are also hoping to see more "Final Fantasy" characters within the sequel having fans favorites Squall Leonhart, Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart and Sephiroth, as well as new faces like Lightning and Noctis.
For now, gaming fans will have to wait for Square Enix's new details for the sequel and hopefully see new worlds and an official release date for the PS4 soon.
