Things are looking good for “Death Stranding” in it most recent play tests, Hideo Kojima revealed recently. Also, Kojima Productions will be at SIGGRAPH 2017, with game developer Guerilla Games.
Both the developers will jointly discuss the Decima Engine used in the development of “Horizon Zero Dawn” and now, in creating Kojima’s first project with game publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Via Twitter, the popular game creator teased fans an exciting update on the ongoing development of “Death Stranding.” He said he felt satisfied with what he saw with the play tests that he can have a good night sleep.
While this development does not offer any in-game details, it tells fans that the game is making some smooth progress and will be likely ready for its speculated big reveal at the PlayStation Experience 2017 in December.
From the looks of it, gamers are inching closer to get a hands-on experience, or at the very least, a closer look at the gameplay. It can be recalled that lots of fans were disappointed when the game did not show up during Sony's presser at E3 2017 last June.
But before PSX 2017, Kojima Productions is making a stop at the SIGGRAPH 2017 – the world’s biggest and most influential conference in computer graphics and interactive techniques. It is set from July 30 to August 3 in Los Angeles, California.
Kojima’s team is gracing the event together with Guerilla Games who is behind the impressive success of “Horizon Zero Dawn,” another PS4 exclusive game launched on February 28.
Both developers are going to share some new information on the Decima Engine, the technology that is powering the development of their respective video game masterpiece.
Neil Blomkamp debunks collaboration rumors
There were rumors earlier that linked South African-Canadian multi-awarded film director and producer Neil Blomkamp with the development of Kojima’s next title.
However, Blomkamp put an end to this false info that he is collaborating with the Japanese video game producer.
On Twitter, the film director bluntly said that he is not, in any way, shape, or form, working with Kojima. What is confirmed so far that critically acclaimed film director Guillermo del Toro is in fact on board this project, together with Hollywood actors Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen.
“Death Stranding” is currently underway an exclusive action title developed by Kojima Productions and published by SIE for PS4. The game has not received an official release date yet but if speculations are anything to go by, it is expected to arrive in sometime in 2019.
