After two years, the “Rise of the Tomb Raider” will finally get a follow-up, thanks to a new leak on the website of marketing firm Takeoff LA. The leak is now circulating online, revealing the third installment’s logo and artwork.
The follow-up to the 2015 action-adventure video game is said to be titled “Shadow of the Tomb Raider,” and it is now allegedly in development. However, the images are now gone, and the website is down.
Images and illustrations
The coming of “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” first leaked in October 2016 when a commuter revealed that he or she saw another commuter scrolling marketing ideas for the game from a laptop.
Fast forward today, another marketing stuff has leaked online. It looks like the California-based company, Takeoff, accidentally uploaded the images and stuff of the game’s third chapter on their website. A set of different logos for the title have been revealed while the other one seems to be an artwork to promote the game.
From the looks of it, the four logos might be the company’s key art proposals and illustrations to give the developers of “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” a number of options. According to PC Gamer, this will also offer insights on the game’s main marketing art. Although the images are now gone on the website, it just proves that a third installment is coming.
Third installment’s new location
However, in spite of the game’s leakage, game enthusiasts haven’t seen “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” at the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017.
Aside from the promotional arts, a NeoGAF user named NeoRaider revealed that the leak images also hint the game’s new location. NeoRaider claimed that one of the third installment’s logos seem pretty familiar as it looks like from “Rise of the Tomb Raider.”
The NeoGAF user explained that it is quite common that marketing stuff is being reused for the first stage of promotional design.
From the graphic designs, Lara can be evidently seen doing her usual stunts, from “exploring, skulking, and wound-bandaging routine.” But, it can be noticed that her settings have changed.
It looks like the series of photos depict what seems to be the Mesoamerican step pyramid, Games Radar reported. Also, a jungle on her background can be noticed.
With that, it might be safe to assume that Lara’s new adventure will take place in Southeastern Mexico and/or Central America after her journey on the fictional island of Yamatai and the Siberian wilderness in the first two games.
