Pokemon Red and Pokémon Green were the very first Pokémon Games Released. They were released in 1994 making the game franchise over 20 years old. Throughout the years, gamers have been treated to several Pokémon games from Pokémon Yellow to the most recent Sun And Moon.
Exciting new game play features in 'Sun' and 'Moon'
Sun and Moon were released in 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS. As technology has developed over the years so has the quality of game play for fans. One of the best features of the game is that the player and the Pokémon can be seen in a 3-D environment instead of the usual 2D offered by previous games.
This makes the user interaction with the game much more exciting and allows them to play an integral part in designing their trainer.
In Sun and Moon, creators focused on allowing more intimate interaction between trainer and Pokémon. Pokémon Refresh is one such feature, which allows the player to cure, pet and feed their Pokémon after battles. Another feature is called Pokémon Ride where a player can call on different Pokémon to help them reach destinations more quickly. This feature in particular links back to original character Charizard from "Pokémon Red" and is a nice shout out to the earlier roots of the games.
More features include the Island Challenges, Hyper Training and New Battle Royal.
The global features for Sun and Moon have been adapted to allow for more user interaction with the settings for battles and the likes. These features were available to a much lesser degree in the previous games.
'Sun' and 'Moon' features old Pokémon in interesting twists
Older Pokémon from the very first generation can be found in this game.
However, they have been given new "Alola forms" meaning that their types and designs have been altered slightly. From psychic Raichu to ice Vulpix, "Sun" and "Moon" certainly integrate old fan favorites in new and exciting ways! The curiosity surrounding these new forms is enough to drive a true Pokémon fan to play this game, let alone all the new features.
A new feature in battling has also been introduced which affects older and newer generation Pokémon. It is called Z-Move and can only be used once in each Pokémon battle. The Z Moves are only available if you equip a suitable Pokémon with a crystal, which can be found around the island. The trainer must also have a Z Ring. Once the player has equipped the necessary items these new powerful moves can be used!
Pokémon Sun and Moon are set to get their very own Ultra version, which is set to feature new story lines and brand new Pokémon! "Ultra Sun" and "Ultra Moon" are set to be released in November of this year. There is no doubt that Pokémon games will continue to change and adapt in integrative and exciting ways, starting with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
