People used to think eating Chocolate every day was a bad thing, but a recent study proved that people should eat dark chocolate every single day for health benefits. Researchers at the University of L’Aquila conducted a study and concluded that Dark Chocolate has so many health benefits that there is nothing wrong with eating it every day. In fact, it is recommended.

The study proved that dark chocolate is a memory booster.

It helps students remember answers to tests, and it helps seniors remember where they placed things. Those who eat it on a regular basis sleep better at night and are less stressful during their waking hours.

Good news

That was really good news for those who love chocolate but have been feeling guilty about eating it. Some more good news is that Saturday, October 28 is National Chocolate Day when people all over the world will celebrate by eating it. The day was set aside by the National Confectioners Association to pay tribute and make people aware that eating chocolate is not a bad thing, and they should not feel guilty about it.

It has been estimated that Americans eat an average of 12 pounds of chocolate per person per year, and everyone will do their part to contribute to that number on chocolate's national day. While the dark kind is the healthiest choice, any piece will be acceptable to eat on this particular day.

How to celebrate

There are so many different things to choose from. It could be cake, cookies, donuts, ice cream, or candy. Don't forget about the chocolate drinks. They count as well.

There are so many different varieties that people can enjoy it for breakfast, lunch, dinner and for snacks. Try a chocolate donut for breakfast or some hot chocolate. Have a tall glass of chocolate milk with your lunch. For dinner, enjoy a slice of chocolate cake after your meal.

Chocolate won't be very hard to find since National Chocolate Day comes just a few days before Halloween when candy is plentiful in stores. By now families have probably stocked up on treats to hand out on October 31. Surely, they bought enough to grab something from their stash. If not, there is still time to replenish what they eat.

Whatever you eat to celebrate, there should be no guilty feelings about eating it on any day and especially on the day when chocolate is honored. Whatever you eat, enjoy it and know that you are joining in with others over the United States who are doing the same thing.
