Top 5 NBA player performances for winning teams on January 8

These five NBA stars stepped up their games on the hardwood to help their teams win.

Andrew Wiggins - Minnesota Timberwolves

Wiggins came through for the Timberwolves on Tuesday night thanks to a stellar 40-point performance. He also grabbed 10 rebounds and gave four assists to teammates in the close 119-117 win over Oklahoma City.

Klay Thompson - Golden State Warriors

It seems like ancient history since Klay was struggling to find his scoring. That's not the case right now. On Tuesday evening, Thompson dropped 43 points, had two steals, two rebounds, and two blocks as the Warriors dominated the Knicks 122-95. Most impressive about Klay's 43 was that he scored mostly off "catch and shoot" plays with very little dribbling.

Kawhi Leonard - Toronto Raptors

Leonard's headed for another All-Star appearance, that seems all but wrapped up. Tuesday's performance included 31 points, six assists, and four rebounds collected as the Raptors held off Atlanta 104-101.

Nikola Jokic - Denver Nuggets

On Tuesday night, Nikola Jokic became the third-youngest player in NBA history with 20 triple-doubles. He had 29 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in a win over Miami. Jokic joins some great company as the other two guys ahead of him are Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson.

Lou Williams - Los Angeles Clippers

Coming off the bench, Lou Williams was one of two Clippers to contribute at least 20 points. He finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and a block. Teammate Montrezl Harrell also came off the bench to give 23 points and 11 rebounds in the 128-109 win over Charlotte.
