Australia will face Pakistan at County Ground, Taunton on June 12, 2019. The match will begin at 2:30 PM PKT
Reigning champions Australia suffered a shock defeat at the hands of India when they lost by 36 runs in a high-scoring ICC World Cup encounter on Sunday.
The Kangaroos were upbeat and were expected to overcome the Indians. However, the depth in the Indian batting lineup ensured a steady and robust start, which was capitalized by the middle order, which accelerated the run rate at the right time. It was followed by some accurate bowling which choked the Kangaroos, and they fell 36 runs short of the target.
The forecast is for a cloudy day with a chance of showers so it could again be the quicks who prosper. Due to the persistent rain threat, It was not surprising to hear Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed insist that his team will bowl first if they win the toss with a beaming smile.
Pakistan upbeat after victory against England
Pakistan, on the other hand, is in an upbeat mood after demolishing the hosts, and skipper Sarfraz Ahmad intends to continue the positive attitude further in their next encounter with current champions, Australia. It will be match number four for Pakistan when they take on the Aussies at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton.

Pakistan had got over its shock defeat at the hands of West Indies when they were bowled out for a paltry 105 runs.
However, they bounced back and defeated the hosts England in the next match at Nottingham. Their subsequent encounter with Sri Lanka was washed out due to rain and both the teams were awarded one point each.
Statistics belie Pakistani confidence

Skipper Sarfraz has admitted that the return of David Warner and Steven Smith have turned the Australian side into a formidable force which he and his teammates are not taking lightly.
Pakistan does not have an excellent record against the Australians. Pakistan has won just one match in the last 14 encounters it had with the Kangaroos.
The humiliating 5-0 whitewash it received at the hands of Australia in March 2019 in UAE must be fresh in their mind. However, Pakistan, which in the past has fought back, want to maintain the momentum they have after their win against England and continue it against Australia.
