Brad Pitt has been quite vocal lately! The actor has recently talked about his Christian past along with other aspects of his private life. Surprisingly, the actor said he grew up in a Christian home with traditional values, however, he left the faith because of its strict by-the-book doctrine.

Pitt said as a young teen his family transitioned from the First Baptist faith to a charismatic establishment that was more sociable. The Hollywood actor/producer said despite his Christian upbringing, he now considers himself agnostics and atheist since he never really understood Christianity.

Alcoholism played a huge role in divorce filing

Recently, he sat down In an interview with GQ Style and talked about his emotional split from Angelina Jolie and even broke his silence about his drinking issues and having the courage to fight for shared custody of his Children. He emotionally broke down in his in-depth interview when he discussed the couple's impending divorce that was filed eight months ago. He also discussed how hard it was for him to walk away from their 12-year relationship and the end of the couple's two-year marriage.

Additionally, he revealed that he had stopped drinking and had sought professional help for his alcoholism problem. Pitt held nothing back while talking about the problems he had faced, even before the public spat at the airport that led to the separation from his family.

But during the interview, he had nothing negative to say about his estranged wife. However, he promoted her new movie asking everyone to go see "First They Killed My Father."

Actor Brad Pitt wants only the best for his six children

The 53-year-old actor said he and Jolie are trying to handle their divorce in a more amicable way, even though the situation is "like death to him." He added that the separation really hurts the children after the family was ripped apart.

Jolie and Pitt have six children together - Maddox, 15, Pax, 13, Zahara, 12, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 8. Pitt disclosed that he has weekly supervised visits with his children.

The actor admitted that his alcoholism played a huge role in the break-up of his marriage and said he had given up the habit and now only drinks cranberry juice and fizz water.

During the interview, he stated that he had learned in the past six months to always put his family first. Especially, he said, since children are very delicate and can easily recognize negativity around them.

In closing, Pitt said he wants a lot more for his six children. He said each morning and evening, he would light a fire at his home. This, he said, makes him feel comfortable while thinking about the family he had built together with Angeline over the past 12 years.
