4J Studios teased the next update to "Minecraft: console Edition" Thursday. The next batch of content coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and legacy consoles will feature a mix of the Exploration and World of Color updates, based on the single image teased by the developer.

The last "Minecraft: Console Edition" update was primarily used to support new texture and mash-up packs. However, the next update was teased through 4J Studios' preferred method of sharing a single image on Twitter with the supposed intention of revealing new plushies.

This image also manages to capture a nearby monitor where an upcoming version of the game is being played showing all the new mobs, items, and other features that will be coming soon.

What's revealed for 'Minecraft: Console Edition'

Zooming into the picture shared by 4J Studios reveals a mix of content from the Exploration and World of Color updates for the PC. This should also bring the console versions close to even with "Minecraft: Pocket/Windows 10 Edition."

The obvious additions up front are the llamas to left of Steve and the parrot perched on his shoulder. Llamas are neutral mobs that can be tamed to essentially become a loot hauler for players.

They are typically found on top of hills in herds of around four. A wild llama will spit at players when attacked, dealing damage. They will also spit at untamed wolves unprovoked

Meanwhile, Parrots are completely passive mobs in "Minecraft" that won't retaliate when attacked. They can be tamed by feeding them seeds and serve as sort of an early warning system against nearby hostile mobs.

They will imitate the sound of the hostile mob to alert the player of incoming danger.

Steve is also holding an Observer block in his right hand and a Totem of Undying in the off-hand slot in the hot bar. The former will detect changes in a block it is facing and emit a redstone pulse that creative "Minecraft" builders can do something with.

The latter will prevent the player from dying in combat when fatal damage is received. Instead, the Totem will be destroyed, but the player's health drops to half a heart, all status effects are removed, and a health regeneration buff is provided.

A Woodland Mansion is also featured prominently in the background. These rare structures spawn in the "Minecraft" roofed forest biome and spawn Evoker, Vex, and Vindicator Ilager mobs. So yes, those will be coming as well as other related items such as the Explorer Map that can be used to help find a mansion and the Cartographer Villager who sells the map.

Dyeable beds are also present in the little hut on the right side of the screen.

What's not shown for "Minecraft: Console Edition"?

If the next "Minecraft: Console Edition" update stays true to mirroring the recent "Pocket/Windows 10 Edition" update, the following items will also be added:

  • Shulker Boxes
  • Concrete & concrete powder
  • Glazed terracotta blocks
  • Iron and Gold tools can now be smelted into Iron Nuggets and Gold Nuggets
  • New game rules: DoFireTick, DoMobSpawning, DoTileDrops, MobGriefing, DoEntityDrops, KeepInventory, DoMobLoot, DoDaylightCycle
  • New achievements
  • Mending & Frostwalking enchantments

"Minecraft" fans will also want to keep an eye out for a potential announcement from Microsoft during the Xbox E3 2017 media briefing on Sunday, June 11. All signs point toward cross-play between the "Console Edition" and the "Pocket/Windows 10 Edition."
