Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, is expecting again. This will be the third child of Prince William and Kate. According to a September 4th report by Lauren Said-Moorhouse with CNN, a joint statement released by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced the news to the world.
The royal couple have two children already. Prince George is now four years old. The youngest, Princess Charlotte, is only two years old.
Kate Middleton plagued with hyperemesis gravidarum for the third time
As with her two previous pregnancies, Kate Middleton is currently suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum.
This is a severe form of morning sickness. Although it is considered normal for women to experience morning sickness when they are pregnant, the morning sickness the Duchess of Cambridge has is much worse. At the time of publication, it was unknown if Princess Kate's hyperemesis gravidarum is a bad as it has been with her two previous pregnancies with Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Sadly, she has already had to cancel at least one appearance due to her severe morning sickness.
The announcement of the upcoming royal birth was made on the heels of the 20th anniversary of the untimely and tragic death of Princess Diana. Known as “The People's Princess” and “The Queen of Hearts,” Princess Diana died in a car accident in Paris.
The new baby will be Princess Diana's third grandchild.
The line of succession to the throne of England
The new baby is fifth in line to the throne of England. Prince Charles, the baby's grandfather is first in line to the throne. Prince William is second in line. William's children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte are third and fourth in line, respectively.
The new baby will move Prince Harry, brother of Prince William and son of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, to sixth in line to the throne.
According to the statement released by Kensington Palace, both families are happy with the news. It stated Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip are “delighted” with the news of a new baby.
Other members of the royal family are also excited. The statement also expressed the Middletons, Kate's family, were also happy about the news.
Although the news of Kate Middleton's latest pregnancy was just released, expect a buzz on social media and in the news regarding possible names for the royal baby. This has happened with her previous pregnancies as well. The world will just have to wait and see if this baby is a boy or a girl and what his/her name will be.
