In a recent report by M Ilyas Khan of BBC News, Pm Of Pakistan Nawaz Shareef has resigned from the post of prime minister. The decision of disqualification of Pakistan's PM from the post was carried out by the Supreme Court of the country. The former PM of Pakistan, Mr. Shareef, was officially appointed to this post on June 5th, 2013 and was disqualified by the Supreme court on July 28, 2017. Former PM Nawaz Shareef was serving for the 3rd time as the prime minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Panama Verdict: The Revelations

The people of Pakistan clearly remember the Panama leak issue back in 2016.

The Panama verdict revealed that the three children of Mr. Shareef's, Maryam Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz owned assets and some offshore companies which were not mentioned in the official family's wealth statement.

These offshore companies were reportedly used for making wealth to obtain foreign assets. These offshore companies helped PM's children in making assets like apartments in Park Lane in the Mayfair area of London, UK.

The revelations from Panama papers further highlighted the fact that the apartments in the central London were owned by Maryam Nawaz. She completely denied the fact by giving a statement that she was just a trustee and the real owners are actually her brothers.

To make the claim valid, she presented a trustee deed in front of the court, which was signed by her and her brothers. This trustee deed was declared as fake by the Supreme Court by the help of a British forensic expert.

The intention behind these offshore companies was to get hands on illegally gotten wealth or a common reason, to avoid taxes.

Mood of Pakistani's? What's up Next?

There was a majority of Pakistani people who didn't want the former PM Mr. Shareef on the post anymore after the Panama verdict. But few out of many were there who supported the former PM and they were supportive till the disqualification day by the court.

Right now, it's not very precise that who would be succeeding the former prime minister of Pakistan.

The brother of the Mr. Shareef, Shahbaz Shareef though seems to be a strong contender for the PM post in the parliament of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is permitted by the speaker of National Assembly of Pakistan to select a PM until the general 2018 elections. PML-N is expected to deliver an official statement on Friday, August 4th, 2017.
