GoPro has confirmed that they will launch its Hero 6 (Black) Action Camera this fall. An alleged photo of it was leaked to Photo Rumors last week. The picture revealed that the camera will carry a compact design. Its look will be similar to its predecessor, the Hero 5.

An image of its product box also showed up online. The consumers got access to major specifications of the product due to this. Another one of the leaks has now shown up on the Canadian version of the Best Buy website. The listing posted on the platform confirms that the camera will be waterproof up to 33 feet directly out of the box, a report by The Verge reads.

Specs and features

The latest leak was posted by Konrad Iturbe on Twitter on Saturday, September 16. The camera in the image carries a black Matte Finish – similar to what was revealed in the previous leaks. In addition to this, GoPro’s official branding can be spotted on the bottom right-hand corner of the panel.

According to a report by Android Headlines, it is being speculated that the device will extend support for 4K video recording. Additionally, users will also be able to capture content at 60 frames per second using the GoPro Hero 6. There will be a special slow-motion mode that will capture recordings at 2460 frames per second. The report notes that it will, however, be limited to full HD technology or 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution.

The company is expected to bring about a major change, especially with regards to its processor this time. The camera will be powered by GoPro’s custom-made chipset called “GP1.” This piece of information has not been confirmed by the company as yet. If this turns out to be true, it remains to be seen whether GP1 will be the official name given to GoPro’s custom-made chipset.

Price of the device

As far as the pricing bit is concerned, GoPro’s Hero 6 Black is speculated to launch at a starting price of $499 in the US market.

Its price is expected to go up to $649 dollars in Canada. Similarly, the rest of the market will experience fluctuations on the basis of several factors.

According to the announcement made by the company, the GoPro Hero 6 will be unveiled at an event on September 28. It will first be available for pre-orders and will follow up with shipping thereafter. There are chances that the GoPro Hero 6 might come with special Snapchat-integrated features as well. The two companies have recently been rumored to have collaborated on a project.
