News and rumors of Xiaomi's Mi Mix 2 smartphone are mounting up on the Internet. Recently surfaced reports showcased the back of the upcoming Android smartphone and its launch date.
The leaked renders of the Mi Mix 2 smartphone, which was shared by a Weibo user, showed off the back of the handset. The image showed the handset with a white ceramic back panel, which seems to have a unibody and rounded edges, according to Gizbot. The mobile device might arrive with a rear dual camera setup and a fingerprint scanner.
The stereo speakers are also spotted at the bottom of the Mi Mix 2 along with a 3.5mm jack and a USB Type-C port.
However, the design of the handset appears to be unclear from the photo.
The other leak by the Mi Mix 2 came from China as well. This particular leak suggests that the tech company might announce its latest smartphone on the same date as the highly anticipated launch of Apple’s iPhone 8, which will be on September 12, Phone Arena reported.
Meanwhile, the facial recognition of the Mi Mix 2 smartphone is said to be more complex compared to the current handsets on the market. The mobile device is also expected to arrive with a 3D facial recognition system.
Smartphone’s concept video
The concept video by designer Philippe Starck seems to indicate that the device will feature thinner bezels than its predecessor.
Starck posted the video on his Facebook account with a tag line, "even less," which appears to tease at a smaller bezel and a bigger screen.
Through Starck’s concept video, it appears that the Chinese tech company is once again gearing up to surprise the smartphone industry with its new bezel-killing mobile device. The new phone could offer the best screen to body ratio.
Android Authority pointed out that when a real designer shares the product’s concept video, the distance between concept and reality will significantly decrease.
Specs of the device
However, tech enthusiasts and experts are anticipating that the smartphone will come with a 6.4-inch QHD display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution.
The handset will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
On the camera front, the main camera of the smartphone will boast 19MP, while its front camera features 13MP.
